Description The Tyrrell's Stevens Vineyard is the iconic Hunter winery's southern-most Semillon vineyard and features a combination of light sand and red clay soils. The vineyard is dry grown with the earliest plantings being from 1911. This Gold-winning vintage saw near perfect conditions and ripeness when it was harvested. Minimal time on yeast lees before being bottled early to maintain its freshness. No oak fermentation or maturation. A richer, softer incarnation of Stevens Semillon. The palate is generous and round, full of ripe citrus intensity, with the classic waxy character that aged Semillons are known for. Drinking very well at six years of age, but will evolve gracefully over the next five to ten years. "Light sand and red clay, the origin.
