Description 1838 was the year Walter Thomson, with wife Jane, arrived in Australia and established a winemaking tradition. Grown in the Clare Valley, the richness of fruit in its natural state is protected and nurtured through minimal intervention in the winery. Seasoned, house-selected French oak is used in the maturation of this smooth well-balanced Merlot. Well-structured palate of blackberries and cherries, filling the mouth with full-bodied, velvety layered tannins. It pairs well with roasted pork loin with garlic paste, pan-seared duck breast with blueberry sauce.
