Description It didn't take much encouragement from Yarra Valley winemaker Dr John Middleton to convince TarraWarra Estate's Marc and Eva Besen to plant their first 6 hectares of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir back in 1983. Their love of Burgundian wines also played a part. Today, a beautiful cellar door and restaurant stand on the property amid 28 hectares of vines, an extensive nature reserve, cattle grazing and a kitchen garden. The Chardonnay was selected from seven separate blocks across the property, and boasts great intensity of stone fruit flavour, a touch of citrus and underlying cashew nut flavours. Creamy texture and subtle use of oak leading to a fresh, lingering finish. A well-deserved 95pt score the result – this is a treat!
