Description Eric Stevens Purbrick was at the forefront of varietal labelling in Australia, but his greatest legacy was to create the 'Special Bin' range of Tahbilk reds, beginning with a Shiraz in 1948. Selected from the most outstanding casks produced on the Tahbilk estate from a particular vintage, these wines became known as 'Reserve' in 1985. From 2002, in honour of Eric, they fittingly carry his name and signature – presented under a replica 1870s Tahbilk label. "Red fruit aromas, raspberry and red cherry bonbons, a subtle sprinkle of pepper and a whiff of fresh-turned earth. The finish is clean and authoritative with surprising length. Oak is invisible, allowing the fruit full expression" (Huon Hooke. The Real Review).
