Description If Pigassou sales are any indication, many of our customers are romantics – Francophiles with happy memories of the sunny south in the days when a handful of francs bought a tasty two course lunch and a pichet of maison rouge. Either that, or they just love a supple, fruity, easy going red. This red will suit both camps. It’s made from little known varieties nurtured by the many small family growers in this part of France. They pool their resources, taking their grapes to the local cellar in Laure Minervois. Combining Marselan for its supple, ripe raspberry and cassis notes with Caladoc’s dark, spicy, plum flavours, Pigassou is herby and fruity, delicious and informal. Serve as and when the fancy takes you – cool or at room temperature.
