Description Established in 1972, Mountadam Vineyards was founded by the late David Wynn, the first winegrower to truly recognise the potential of a cool, elevated site to produce Australian wines of great elegance and structure. He named the vineyard after his son, Adam (who in 1984 became the company winemaker). Sourced from Mountadam's western vineyard in High Eden. There, aromatic Gewürztraminer is kept cool by altitude – sitting at a height of around 550m above sea level. While the nose gives rose, musk and Turkish delight notes, the palate is more restrained, showing primarily pink lady apple and more subtle rose water and spice characters, "… excellent detail and clarity" writes Dave Brookes in The Halliday Wine Companion.
