Description The Grand Vin is from one of the star estates of the Languedoc, Daumas Gassac, which was founded by Aimé and Véronique Guibert, former glovemakers to royalty and friends of Bordeaux geography professor Henri Enjalbert. Visiting the property, Henri was bowled over by the quality of the terroir, formed over thousands of years by slowly shifting glaciers and so began the Guibert adventure with wine. The soil is so well drained that the vine roots must grow deep down to find nourishment and moisture, promoting unique aromas and flavours in the grapes. Very much in the style of the top wine, but at an affordable price. A unique wine featuring luscious, ripe blackberry with a deep chocolate earthiness, ripe plum and creamy toffee on the nose, this wine pairs beautifully with garlicky lamb and hearty casseroles.
