Description Sourced from the Porter family, Adelaide Hills growers who have worked with Corryton Burge for years. The family's Chardonnay was matured in a mix of new and used oak for 6 months. Weekly battonage helped create a full and creamy mouthfeel and balance out the acidity. Striking aromas of cashew and peach open up to a palate of white peach and stone fruit. There is a subtle creaminess with toasty oak supported by a mineral acid line maintaining freshness and complexity, the palate finishes with hints of biscuit and oyster shell and a touch of flint. "Pale straw in the glass with aromas of ripe nectarine, white peach and grapefruit, cut through with hints of soft spice, lemon curd, nougat, almond paste and meal. There's a little bit of texture and creaminess on the palate, with softly-spoken spicy oak joining the fray and a dry, stony aspect to the mealy nectarine/peach fruits on the finish" (Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion).
