Description The Angaston Road Growers range is all about honouring the often unsung heroes of the wine world, the growers. It is their intimate knowledge of the local terroir, the changes of season, and the varietals they tend to that ensure the special parcels of fruit that make it to the winery are in tip-top form to make quality wines like this elegant Chardonnay. The wine recognises Mick Gillon, a proud vigneron who works the rich red Terra Rossa soils of the Coonawarra. And when it came to finding the best selection of Chardonnay for this new wine, the Angaston Road winemakers knew instantly to reach out to Mick. His MacVale Chardonnay vineyard is managed organically and is not long off official certification. Mick is also a part-time beekeeper, looking after a friendly hive of pollinators who help during flowering. Once picked, the Chardonnay is crafted and bottled in the Barossa using local glass, capsules and 100% recycled paper labels. Aromas of peach, citrus and toasty oak are reflected on a broad stone fruit, spiced apple and bright citrus palate.
