Description
The team at d'Arenberg are proud that for the second year in a row they have won a place in the Top 50 World's Best Vineyards, and have just scooped the Trophy for Best Winery at the prestigious London Wine Competition 2020. Although a little closed when first opened, when decanted, this wine soon becomes vibrant, powerful Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose is full of red berries, cassis and a refined leafiness. The palate is young and fresh with spicy acidity and gravelly tannins. The oak is restrained and balanced, allowing the old vine character to shine through. This wine needs time (and patience) to evolve and will reward cellaring in the medium to long term.
"Archetypal McLaren Vale Cabernet - full-bodied, richly flavoured with currants and cassis, warm, spicy and determined tannins. It's a powerhouse. It's of a style. It needs time to settle...95pts" (Halliday).
