Description
The Canto di Lago vineyard is on a 40 million year old alluvial plain, nestled between two rivers adjacent to Lake Alexandrina, upstream from the River Murray’s sea mouth. It is an oasis in a cool desert with vines planted on their own roots, in maritime red sands that sit over pre-Cambrian Limestone and ideal for growing grapes.
Rich magenta with a royal purple hue. On the nose, peppercorn spice and a hint of cedar with warm aromas of plums and cherries. On the palate, enjoy rich, juicy and fragrant red fruits with some tangy cedar and spice characters. Lush round blackberry and plums, tempered with some light but typical Sangiovese savoury tannins.
