This wine may be inspired by the Italian town of Sorrento, but it was grown in McLaren Vale, and shows all the big, rich dark fruit and chocolate intensity of a classic McLaren Vale Shiraz – the kind that won Steve Maglieri the title of ‘Bushing King’ (three times!), plus Trophies for Best Shiraz in the Great Australian Wine Challenge, and Best Shiraz and Red Wine of the Year at the London International Wine Challenge. And the kind that won winemaker Charles Whish a Jimmy Watson Trophy!
"For the price, this is a classy interpretation, plump and bouncy, while bound to some reductive tension. This oozes black cherry, plum, violet and iodine aromas across a weave of olive and barbecue...90pts" (Halliday).
