Description If you love Malbec, you’re in for a treat here. Patagonia has a stellar reputation. Not only is the scenery spectacular, but the windswept slopes and bright light are also ideal for viticulture. No wonder a number of key players have established cellars there. Schroeder Estate was founded in 2001 by Herman Schroeder. It's a winery that continues to impress and has a trophy cabinet full of awards (including ‘Winery of the Year 2006’). The estate’s soil is light and stony, which, combined with plenty of snow melt for irrigation and biting winds, result in the sort of thick skinned grapes that are ideal for structured reds. Partly oaked, this velvety black fruit and lightly spiced Malbec partners roast beef or steaks perfectly. Best decanted.
