Description 60 years ago, Ben and Alma Schild bought a tiny vineyard in Rowland Flat. Their son Ed Schild has since grown the holdings to over 450 acres. Schild’s is very much a family affair, and you can still shake hands with family members from three generations at their beautiful cellar door in Lyndoch. In 2009, Ed realised his dream of producing estate-made wines by building the Schild’s ‘Valley of Hope’ winery. Juicy ripe Grenache, silky smooth Mourvèdre and deep, luscious Shiraz combine in this bright, layered, textural treat. The Mourvèdre comes from Survivor vines (over 75 years old), the Grenache from Centarian vines (over 100 years old)! It's bright with red berry, confectionery and spice but still with a rich, smooth finish.
