Description Frankland River is located in WA’s rugged Great Southern region. The area was first pinpointed as a great place to grow wine in 1956 by Dr Harold Olmo, a Californian viticulturist. Frankland Estate was established in 1988 by Judi Cullam and Barrie Smith on their sheep station. Today it is “a significant operation” (Halliday), home to very high quality wines. The region’s cool climate produces elegant wines with great intensity and finesse. This one is precise and focussed, layered with black fruits and spice on a long, structured palate.
