Description
Medium bodied with a generous mouth-feel, well balanced acidity and fine dusty tannins. Flavours of cigar, black forest, eggnog and vanilla. Time in oak, including 20% in new French oak, gives it depth and complexity well beyond what it would go for at RRP.
"Excellent dark garnet-crimson hue; nose a little dusty at first eventually blackberries and licorice with a touch of soy sauce comes up. While it's medium-bodied and fresh, the tannins remain brutish in this youthful stage... 92pts" (Halliday).
