Description
Having a few of these in your cellar is like having a few aces up your sleeve... four in fact! Aromas of blackberry, cherry and sandalwood rise from the glass, while the palate that follows offers similar intense flavours of black forest and cherry with layers of sandalwood. The range of wines is named after the four magnificent Karri trees, which are nearly 75 meters tall and over 400 years old and are located down the road from the Peos winery in Manjimup.
"It smells lovely and old-fashioned (in a good way) with cedar and cigar box aromas. Plenty of varietal joy with cassis and blackberry essence with regional bracken-eucalypt acting more as a seasoning. Full-bodied, slightly terse tannins and the oak impacting too. It needs time to settle and will do... 95pts" (Halliday).
