Description
Cariñena may be in the shadow of nearby Rioja, but you ignore it at your expense, as quality and value are outstanding. This superb Gran Reserva is a luscious, mellow, berry scented blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Cabernet, oak aged for 18 months.
The wine is named after the noble Valdecañas family that descends from King Fernando I of Castile and Leon. Stand the bottle upright for a few hours, then decant to leave any sediment in the bottle. Enjoy its rich fruit and toasty vanilla and coconut notes with casseroled chicken or roast rack of lamb.
