Description Out of over 800 châteaux in Bordeaux’s storied Saint-Émilion appellation, only four have been ranked Premier Grand Cru Classé ‘A.’ Cheval Blanc and Ausone (first classified in 1955) are the originals. Angélus and Pavie (classified in 2012) have become equally famous. Their wines sell for hundreds of dollars per bottle. Only a certain amount of Grand Vin from these top estates is made each year, and in the exceptional 2019 vintage, some surplus wine from one of these estates was available. As a native Bordelaise, our Bordeaux buyer Jean-Marc Sauboua has some friends in very high places, and he was able to secure this small parcel as long as we bottled it under a secret label. Though we may not be able to tell you which estate this lavish wine comes from, you can be sure that you are drinking a sublime Saint-Émilion from one of the appellation’s very finest estates…at a truly incredible price!
