Description The Picpoul grape is renowned for its pristine mineral freshness – even in the warmth of the Languedoc in southern France, the only place it is grown. Caroline Morin's family estate lies close to the Etang de Thau, a salt lake not far from the Cap d’Agde and near to the famous oyster beds of Bouzigues. Aired by salty sea breezes, the grapes deliver unmistakable Mediterranean character. The result is a very well balanced wine with lots of ripe fruit and crisp zip. Look out for aromas of white flowers, lime zest, green pear and ripe melon flavours, beautifully balanced by a citrusy edge and faintly salty tang. No wonder Picpoul is enjoying a renaissance in wine bars and restaurants in France and the UK. A perfect aperitif and seafood white.
