Description Last year Bordeaux buyer, Jean Marc, visited La Fête des Bœuf Gras (the feast of fattened beef) in Bazas. There they love their flavours bold and their wines dark and rich. They have to be. These wines have to match the best beef in France: that of Le Roi Bœuf or The King Cow. (Bazas beef is so good it almost never leaves the region. Same goes for their huge, hearty reds too.) In honour of the occasion, not only did Jean Marc help choose the King Cow, he also worked with local star winemaker Lionel Osmin on an exclusive red, named after La Roi Bœuf itself. He proudly calls it “the ultimate steak wine”. 100% jet-black Tannat aged in best oak barrels delivers a red filled with ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, fig and swirls of spiced oak.
