Description Château Ramage is a tiny estate nestled in the heart of Bordeaux, bang on the border of the famed Pauillac region, home to three of the most famous First Growth châteaux of all – Latour, Mouton-Rothschild and Lafite. Château Ramage’s top wines are also expensive. They’re rated very highly by Robert Parker who calls them “An elegant style of Bordeaux, with loads of tobacco smoke and tobacco leaf, red and black currants" and come laden with accolades. So why is this Haut Médoc so inexpensive? Well, the La Bâtisse on offer today is the chateau’s ‘second wine’ – made with grapes that didn’t quite make the cut for their very top wines. It’s still very very good – as you'll see when you taste it. Rich in classic cassis, deep blackcurrant and smooth plum, balanced by notes of smoky cedar and warming spice, it’s a truly delicious red that Bordeaux lovers will adore - at an exceptional price for the quality.
