Description
Phil and Chris Rose were pioneers in Marlborough's Wairau River region. Their sons Sam and Hamish are also in the wine game and Kora, meaning 'distant place', is their own delicious creation from the family estate.
It's crisp and aromatic with gooseberry and passionfruit complexity. The Roses are largely self sufficient, raising livestock, fishing, making their own olive oil and growing vegetables. When the three generations (all 23 of them) sit down to eat, they often enjoy a glass of Kora with seafood they've caught or dived for themselves in the Marlborough Sound. You can share the good life, too. Just pop down to your local fish counter, gather the family and open a well chilled bottle of Kora.
