Description Situated where the Rhône meets Provence at the foot of the imposing extinct volcano Mont Ventoux, this southern French region has been on top form in the last decade. Its red wines have “a kind of mountain coolness and freshness” according to award winning wine writer Andrew Jefford. Domaine de Ju is grown around the lower slopes of the mountain. The altitude creates freshness and balance in the wine that sets it apart from wines grown on the plains. The wine itself is made at an award winning cellar by our good friend Thierry Ferlay. It has an aromatic red fruit quality reminiscent of blackcurrants, raspberries and strawberries with subtle spice. Wonderful with chicken or pork shish kebabs, couscous or a Mediterranean lamb tagine.
