Description Ribera del Duero is Spain's "most fashionable region" (FT) thanks to a stellar list of high priced, glorious, Tempranillo based reds. Curato de Silos Crianza is a superb example, but manages to deliver all that luxurious taste at a more down to earth price. Founded in 1994 by Amalio Aragón and his two sons and daughter, the estate has long been held in high regard, and now their flagship red - Torresilo - has won 'Best Wine' at the Wines of Spain awards three times. This fine Crianza is made purely from Tempranillo, known in this region as Tinto Fino. It was aged for over a year in mainly French oak for extra complexity. With smooth plum and cherry, this is a rich taste of all that's great about Ribera del Duero. A top choice with lamb.
