Description The Lloyd family’s picturesque Coriole estate, cellar door, gardens, restaurant and original old farm buildings date back to 1860. It’s a lovely place to visit – especially if you taste through the broad, diverse and always impressive range of reds, whites and rosé. This Cabernet Merlot is from their top tier Reserve range and is named after the Lloyd family matriarch, Mary Kathleen Lloyd, one of Coriole’s founders. “Steel frame of tannin gives this medium to full-bodied wine a touch of the statuesque. It’s still building towards its best years. It tastes of blueberry, tobacco, blackcurrant and tar; smoky/coffeed oak contributes smoothness to the texture as much as flavour. It’s still resolving itself on the finish; it’ll evolve in its own good time... 94 points” (Halliday).
