Description
Aged to perfection, from a 5 Star winery. Generous fruit without being over-bearing; blackcurrent and cassis flavours, flecked with floral notes and hints of choc liquorice.
“The more flamboyant of the three vintages I was lucky enough to taste side by side, this is a meld of cabernet (67.4%): malbec (16.8%), the rest franc. Rounder, denser, richer and altogether riper. And yet despite the higher alcohol, the fruit tones on this are arguably the more savoury, the tannins polished and managed impeccably; the overall impression, the most Bordeaux-like: leaf, bouquet garni, cassis and clove, swathed in a sage-soused tannic fold, accentuated by classy oak. Long and enveloping…95pts” (Ned Goodwin MW, Halliday Wine Companion).
